There are several threads very active right now on this whole finish dilemma, and there's a lot of very good and practical advice from luthiers who have mastered these alternatives to lacquer.

Thanks Rick. I am planning to use Tru-Oil on my current project and I have been experimenting on some scrap over the weekend. That thread about oil finishing is really useful.
