An Ear full of Selmers.....as requested.

Some of you said you would like sound files of my Selmer builds. Luckily for me my first customer is a great bloke (And good player to boot!) & kindly agreed to play both his & my second Selmer.
For your critique here's a youtube vid of the first build.

I'll post the second one here later.

Kia ora!

Jeeze, Wayne! Get off the grass, Nick! You sprogged this as your first Selmer? Strewth? Well, since you're not skiting, let me have a go at it: cor blimey she's right as rain!

This was no piece of piss, but you didn't whinge, throw a wobbly, or pike out. You just said, "no wuckas", rattled your dags, and got her home and hosed. Now everything is good as gold; a box of birds, quite nice!

Bob Heinz seems bloody-hell chuffed! Hope he surrendered big bickies for this spot-on corker! He could take a tiki tour and tramp from Waikikamukau to Eketahuna and not find a wicked flash guitar like her!

Spotcha,

Dennis

Strewth Den, a bloke might get banned for spraying the high stuff in the dunny like that mate!

Nick,

Beautiful instrument, beautiful playing. Thanks for posting this.

BTW last time I was in NZ the world was in colour, going to sepia, is this a cost cutting measure?

Kia Ora Dennis, your 'Kye why' is improving there cobber, we'll have ya saying "Fush 'n' Chups" with conviction before you know it, sweet as 8) 8)

Thanks for your comments everybody

Well I finally got my syncing problems sorted (my first couple of attempts had the sound ahead of the visual) by saving & downloading the damn thing in a different format. I was up 'til all hours trying to get this sorted
So here is Number 2 The Tassy Blackwood model.

If that isn't worth a banning, then I don't know what is.

Thanks for showing us that Nick. Superb playing, and great, unique sound from the Selmers. My preference is the Tassie Blackwood.

Nick,

Since I had already said a word or two of praise in "Americo-English" at the TLC, I thought it would be fun to praise you and your beautiful guitar in "Pseudo-Kiwi-Slang" here. Hope I didn't accidentally propose marriage!

Only to my Border Collie dog   Cheers Dennis & keep it up.
By the way brush off your best suit, there's a long haired little black & white lady here that will be disappointed if you don't go through with your proposal. She doesn't mind sharing her food bowl either so you won't have to bring your own.

Fantastic work Nick, you gotta be happy with that mate. Very impressive indeed, they both sound excellent and are every bit as good as they look. I imagine it would have been quite the challenge getting such good results of the vid with only a handycam but presented with the opportunity to record Bob's brilliant performance on your babies, it has been worth every effort.

Oh, by the way, your banned mate so piss off.

Cheers

Kim

:lmao You say the sweetest things Kim, I'm honoured

Thanks Bob & Kim, it really does mean alot to me when people such as yourselves (and other great builders on the forum) comment on what is still very much an infancy process for me. Thanks.

Yeah the sound wasn't bad & I was reasonably happy with the results but as with anything, you learn as you go & I've definetly learned from this that if there's a next time... to use an external mic! As the camcorder's noise is annoyingly humming away in the background! Not the best if the main aim of the exercise is to listen to the instrument.

hahahahahahha If you think that was bad, you should hear me try to do Kiwi and Aussie accents.

Now, to be fair, just which of those expressions are truly from New Zealand and which are from Australia is extra tough, because the two countries share and/or borrow culture and idioms ("borrow" being dependent on who you talk to.)

Oh, and the paternity tests are back: me da is an Irishman who sailed to the Tasman sea looking for long lost relatives. :D

And this was about the point where the New Zealand Customs Officers arrested Dennis on suspicion of having done far too many drugs at Woodstock.

No Worries Dennis, Martin has officially banned you in 1970's Kiwi lingo. There was a habit of mangling the vowels hence "U's" replaced most of the others, fortunately that's changed now :D
However if, on the other hand, you wanted to speak fluent 'strine' just make every third word "Mate" and the other words in between are peppered with colourful swear words
