does anyone know of a good source to enquire about burl. I want to try using some burl to veneer headstock, i think it would look cool;

Tim would be your first port of call for sure!
Constantines also do a range of burls if you need to go offshore, have to take what you get though.Although I got the burl assortment and used the Imbuya on my rosette and headstock, you get quite alot of each burl so it ends up being quite reasonable price wise.

If you want to bring down the tone at a post christening party then do what one of my buddies did......run a few slides of the happy birth and then thrown in a blow up photo of the placenta.

Rod - there's a guy not far from you in Croydon - The Woodsmith - who I think has a stash of this sort of stuff. But he is only open for business a couple of days a week.
