Troji

Post by Lillian » Mon Nov 19, 2007 1:22 pm

Well, I have spent most of the past two weekends under the house, in the crawl space putting up insulation. Ah, the joys of owning your own home.

The garage is too cold to paint in now and I will not paint in the house, so its just going to have to wait until next spring for the sides to get painted. I did put textured paint down on the base. I'm glad I did.

Sorry about the picture, we need to get another camera. This one just hasn't been the same since it was dropped.

Thanks Rod. I really appreciate your help and guidance.

Thanks guys for the kind words.

I'm not much for showing off my shop and stuff, but I didn't want ya'll thinking that I was some sort of bar fly. I'm slow getting to my first, but I'll get there.

Ryan moved to Denver last week, so I'm commandeering his room. It'll take a couple of weeks, (all right, several) to finish getting the house insulated and his stuff packed up. But once I do, I'll start building in the house.

I just need to get linings and decide which back/side set to sacrifice. The top is going to be sitka. I have several sets that are just okay. I do have a larch top set that just rings like a bell. Then there is Shane lutz. Decisions, decisions.

Way to go sis! :cl :cl :cl :cl :cl

We got a saying in French: Petit train va loin!

Translates somewhat like : A little train goes further ie that you advance precautiously and with the time that you can allow yourself in the shop which i think is wise, you make your moves when you're sure of the thought out plan and it will pay in the long run! :cheer
Jesus, family, friends, guitar and mandolin : D

Serge, merci frère. Un jour, je vais réussir.

Kim, Bob and Craig, thanks.

Craig, I wrestled with completing the troji for a couple of weeks. After seeing your creations, I was inspired. I wasn't sure how to make it better than Rod's design, but I really thought about it. In the end I went with functional. As for building one of these, the hardest part is wrestling with pretensioned hinges. The rest is very straight forward and Rod's instructions everything so clear. I think this is like an outside mold or a go-bar deck, everyone should be building with it.

Very nice Lillian!!!!!!

You know when I am thinking in terms of which back and side set to sacrifice I just get on line and let myself purchase a new set. The new set goes in the stash and letting go of an existing set becomes much easier......

Liked?? I thought we were kindred spirits. Did I do something wrong? Have I been nice to you lately?

Hesh, I like you thought process, alot. Unfortunately, the bookkeeper wasn't impressed when I present the idea. I work for the county.
