Finshed the Box for #15

Post by Hesh1956 » Fri Dec 14, 2007 3:58 am

This morning I finished the box for #15 and I have to admit that I am pleased with it.

This is Lutz and Honduran mahogany with mahogany purfings from Uncle Bob at RC Tonewoods and BRW rosette and bindings. The box weighs 24 ounces..... :)

Check it out!

Up to your usual impeccable standard Hesh.

So I guess you're looking for a larger condo to house all of this babies?

What thickness did you get the top down to on this one?

Bob this one, in order to get the deflection that I like to see, is around .112 in the middle and will be slightly less but not much around the edges. The mahogany really makes a light weight guitar.

Quite different in terms of grain pattern that we're accustomed to see from you Hesh but it should be a sober and an elegant beauty, can't wait to see that grain pop out under the finish, what woods will you be using for the neck bro?

Serge this is Lutz and is what I call squirrel claw Lutz so the grain is a little twisted like some other things from Canada like Alain.....

Good prediction Serge - my primary design goal for this guitar is to make it as loud as I can. It's a d***d killer.
