The happiest Easter Bunny I've ever seen! :D
No wonder considering he is playing such a nice instrument he made himself! 8)

Looks lovely. Really nice effects going on there. In terms of bass response, I think its less likely the mass of the carvings and more likely just the general stiffness of that small top. Possibly cutting away a thin gap between two of the adjacent sound holes would give the centre of the top some more room to move ... but I wouldn't dare do it to this one!

PS did you put your makers label inside it? visible through the holes?

Thank you Matthew,

Size don't matter...Yoda taught us that. Me make a lot of narrow wishbone dulcimers and Padzukies and the small tops have not been a problem when carved properly, which was just not possible with this top...well it could have been but me ain't that anal to sit there with calipers checking and tooling every square centimeter of the top. Nope. me convinced it is the extra mass. However Matthew, that amt on mass on a 16 or 17 inch top would permit doing exactly what you suggest.

Would you believe it, me forgot to glue in the label. Oh well.

Me gotts about a half dozen builds that need video/audio demos...
maybe, perhaps, real sooner, than later, or there abouts...but don't be holding yer breath...I'm not.
but yes...sooner or later and probably all in one shot...is the way me sort a do things... just as soon as me find or get "a round 2 it."

Round 2its aren't all that easy to come by now days, and me seem to have misplaced mine.

tanks for the tuit offer Nick

Is the bestest fancy round tuit me never did see before.

But gee, duh Padma can't be getting down on such an nice fancy tuit like that. No, you keep that
tuit...its a real winner.

Me go find meself me own tu it.

Besides, if me accept your tuit, well then me would hasto start them video/audio tracks and well its spring and the birds are singin and the bees are a beeing and and and well simple truth is, me wouldn't has an excuse for goofing off and not getting them done.

Real truth is...8 years in TV studios and me just can't seem to wanna turn on a camera or mess with that stuff. But one day when me gets too many builds cluttering up the place, me will lay down some tracks and post them all in one shot.

But not to day.

Again, thank you kindly for yer offer.

Yo, sebastiaan,

Next time the rinpoche swings by, me see if him wanna lay down a few tracks. He can really wail on the human thy bone trumpet, and when we get chanting, why is just like back in the monastery days.

Just makes me wanna get out my carving chisels, that's better than sauce on a pie Padma and I reckon I will be pinching that wishbone business one day for a traveller.
