My drill press won't press !

Post by Dave Anderson » Fri Dec 21, 2007 12:32 am

Hi Fellas,
I'm hoping someone out there has had a similar problem and can help.
My drill press (Delta DP-400) will not shut off when I shut it off.
It just wants to keep working! I ordered a new switch and it still won't stop!
It's a pain having to unplug it all the time.

Anybody had a problem like this with your Delta :?: Thanks...Dave

That's weird that a new switch didn't work, it must be possessed.

The only thing I can think of is it must be shorting somewhere. Check as much wiring as you can get to for a bare spot. Juice has to be bypassing the switch somewhere, I'd think.

Try unloading two barrels of buckshot into the machine :D

The switch must be wired wrong or shorting out. Otherwise there wouldn't be any juice getting to the motor, if there's a short somewhere it's gotta be at or before the switch.

I just went out and tried it with the switch unconnected and it still ran!
I have to have a short somewhere.

Thanks guys!!
