Post by simso » Tue Apr 26, 2011 8:10 pm

I run a small instrument repair business in Perth, just thought Id say hello and start lurking about in the forum, dont know if I can help others out but Ill try. Make my own tools and gear so definetly come from a do it yourself background

G'day Steve,

Welcome to the forum. I was also involved in stringed instrument setups and repairs for many years before having a go at building an acoustic instrument from scratch. Very addictive hobby!

Cheers

Gidday Steve, welcome to the forum. Yeah will be good to see any interesting repairs you have ,stringed instrument or not :D & offer any advice or history on repairs. Unlike advice you get from a wife, the more input we have here the more we like it.

My stuffs pretty boring, as far as craftsman ship wise. Simply repairs - refrets, broken necks, rewind pickups, etc stuff like that

Wow, I thought that was pretty messy. You should see it end of the week, clean up day, eveythings put away, jobs that are not finished go into the shelves, floors swept etc.

One of my guys is a neat freak, so everything is swept and cleaned after every job. He cant start a new job with parts / bits left over from the last one. It stress's him out

I am sure there will be clinical name for it and possibly a treatment in the fullness of time.
