Thought this might be of interest to some of you; I certainly find it rather amazing. Body shape aside, take a look at those frets!

Yeah a weird one alright, I'd almost say it was a rather poor attempt at fan frets but the saddle doesn't seem to have enough compensation/angle for that. Don't know if I'd like that body shape either.

I can certainly see the thought behind the body shape, effectively there IS more 'contributing' surface area to the soundboard....but then I am not a big fan of porridge, pilates or Volvo's either.

As for the frets..the board was obviously stolen from a passing circus.... the axe thrower must have been most pissed that some wanker would steel his practice backing board and saw the bloody thing up like that.

That's probably the second worst 'first guitar' I've ever seen.

I find the description even cooler than the fretboard:

NOBODY KNOWS WHAT TO MAKE OF THIS!
I guess that fact alone may make it appealing.

The body shape is a design by Manuel Contreras for Abel Carlevaro, but that model had no soundhole; the opening was a gap between the top and the sides (here an interview with Carlevaro in Spanish and Taiwanese, have a look at 0:26 to see the gap I mentioned).

To be more precise: Carlevaro came up with the design and Contreras got entitled to make those guitars. (Later, a German luthier bought his patents, but I guess they must be about to expire in these years or it's already the case.
