Well Done Allen for adding the Carbatec Twin Drum Sander to your workshop. I am sure that it will be great... I am still struggling with the little 16 inch single drum Performax so I know where you are coming from as well as having spent some time at Micheal Connors shed too coveting some of his lovely old cast iron machinery...especially "that" bandsaw :)
I recently have had an addition to my sheds arsenal as well. I have been looking for one of these for ages as they are a rare as hens teeth....a small Wadkin table saw that is single phase. I think the motor was added by the Australian importer Austral Machinery when they came into the country but I am not sure...it could have been added later but I think not. It is a high quality Aussie made 240V motor of 2.5hp so it will be well and truly adequate for my needs....I am very happy and I have to thank Rob Brown (Auscab) for making me aware of it on eBay....Thanks Rob.

John

No worries John.Glad to see you got it.
It looks better already than those ebay pictures. pretty clean looking as well . I spent a lot of time doing my one up,it had been left in a shipping container that had a leak, lots of surface rust.
All you have to do is put a blade on it ? lucky you.

Thanks Gents!...Yes I am fortunate that it is in such good condition. He had it outside under an awning by his workshop but the table seems to have always been treated with a nice smear of oil or similar to prevent rust so I appreciate that very much as I have not got the time at the moment for a full resto like you did Rob.The gentleman who I bought it from was a model maker so it only has a 6 inch blade that came with the saw so I will have to buy a 10 inch combination blade ....still not complaining! :)

Yes Bill, I love old industrial machines. This thing is twice the weight of my Jet 10 inch Contractor style saw that I have had for the last 11 years and runs so much smoother. I just love the old school engineering feel about it. The quality of the arbor and the three belt drive ... very nice....:)

Congrats John! What a gorgeous saw! :D
I'm green with envy and I am not seriously considering to stop reading those tool related ANZLF threads!

Very nice indeed John. I would love to get more old cast iron into the shed as well, but that might require pushing it out into my neighbours yards.

Lovely John. The motor would be original I think. It is good to see you have the wing on the left of the table. My old one didn't have it and that is why I got rid of it in the end..Just not enough room to work.
Cheers from Micheal.
