Just wanted to say :

Post by Craig » Sun Mar 16, 2008 9:19 am

Just wanted to say that of late , I have noticed this forum to have a fantastic vibe . The friendlyness , mateship , and favours shared, have been marvellous. Us Administrators and moderators have had nothing to do to keep the place on an even keel. No arguments , bad feelings or inferences. It truly is a great place to be and must rate as rather unique in the world of forums.

I'm sure it's what other forums strive to do , but in nearly every case do not achieve. There always seems to be some sort of crap or shit fights going down.

A pat on the back to us all. We must all be really good bastards eh !

It really does feel like one big happy family

I'm very grateful to be mixing with such a fine bunch of people ,and the friendships gained are invaluable and precious.

This should probably have gone in the off topics section , but , oh well,,,,,,' Stiff'

Cheers everyone, Craig

I'll second that Craig. I've ended up spending most of my forum time here now. I just don't need the sh#t that always ends up finding it's way into discussions on some of the other forums. And there's a pretty knowledgeable lot here to get great advice from.

Good onya all. :cl

Yeh this has been great since I’ve been here. Good ozzie easy going spirit.

When its about sharing and using combined wisdom to arrive at better designs or ideas, such as the virtual development of the adjustable neck recently, the internet is working at its utopian best. Used this way the art of guitar making can progress rapidly and we can all benefit.

When it stops becoming about that it can end up bringing out the worst aspects of the internet community.

We can all play a part in making it the former by watching each others backs and staying with the cool vibe here if we see trouble.
Thanks
Dom

Yep, this forum is certainly a pleasure to be associated with and an extremely valuable learning reference for a beginner guitar builder like myself. I have posted some of my weissenborn copy guitar progress on the forum and everyone has been positive and very encourageing. I read the forum on a regular basis to learn and there is always something interesting going on regard lutherie. I have been on the receiving end of some generosity from the forum members here also.

Thank you all th the forum members of the ANZLF

Cheers

Alan

In fact you all are a bunch of wankers except for of course Lady Lillian and Lady Sam, Lady Billy and any other ladies here that I have not met yet.
Oh no, here in Australia the sheilas done get any special treatment. All slagging and bagging is distributed fairly between the sexes.

Cheers Martin (boat maker, wanker and absolute tosser).

Billy I don't think it is fair of you to quote Martins post knowing full well that doing so would re-expose a post that Hesh had tried to delete because he obviously felt uncomfortable about it, I think that is despicable behaviour and you should take this opportunity to sit down and give yourself a good talking to young man

Cheers

Oh Man - I got busted.......

With in minutes of posting that my conscience got to me and I went back and deleted it but I see that the damage was done.......... :D

It also said near the end that I love all you guys meaning that I was kidding with ya. It's not my nature to tell people to piss off so I thought that it might be considered funny to some that I was being a jerk.

Sorry if I offended anyone..........

Don't worry about telling an Aussie to piss off. It's a term of endearment here.

Ok I feel better now and a special thanks to Larry for your kind words my friend. I always thought that you didn't like me so I avoided you but perhaps like most things in life for me I was wrong about that too.......

OK to the others - what is a tosser?

This thread started out like a bunch of pissed mates doing the "I love you mate" thing but as soon as they woke up in the US it went straight into the sewer.

So what about we just call our american friends seppos like in my old surfing days and be done with it.

Translation (rhyming slang)

american = yank (no relation to tosser although the terms are not mutually exclusive)
yank = septic tank
septic tank = seppo.

Again, often an endearing term, but it usually depends on which side of the mouth the wry smile is.

Only a tosser would leave himself open to the abuse that's sure to follow. :lmao
