Koto for necks

Post by Graham Long » Tue Sep 03, 2013 7:10 pm

Hi All,
Has anyone ever used Koto for necks?
I was after some Silver Ash, but couldn't get any, my local timber merchant told me Koto was a good replacement timber.
Cheers
Graham

I've never worked with it, but Koto is African Ash, so the guy probably heard "Ash" and went with it.

I picked up my wood book and spec wise koto is a bit softer than Silver Ash (670 vs 600) but all other attributes looked similar on paper.

Nothing stood out that looked to be a problem
