When buying machines from China

Post by simso » Wed Mar 05, 2014 9:04 pm

Any chance someone can make my link proper (complies with forum rules).

I dont want to violate forum rules, but I do want to warn others about buying from this particular company. I also did not want to name names on Bobs forum.

This is not to send traffic my way, every one here so far should know I post to help, not for drumming up business.

When dealing with china sometimes its real easy, other times its just a nightmare, its just the luck of the draw.

It gets better.

Thats photos of the machine from there end.

They asked for final payment, and I said, not happy but fine, I want however the rotary's to be mounted below the table height before I pay final payment, this was the only reason I bought there machine to start with

One week later they respond back and say, sorry, thats not possible, the machine is already now at sea.

You now make final payment or no documents will be sent,

This means when machine arrives, I cant pick it up, 3 days later after arrival, storage charges will start to occur on the item.

So I will never recieve machine either.

Yep.

Like I said, everything was just wrong about the deal.

The machine not looking the same is one thing, its a machine so I can live with that, but it kind of makes you start to wonder, then when I said Ill accept the machine provided you modify it, and they get back to me a week later and say sorry machine at sea, pay final balance now stirs questions.

Ive lost 3000 dollars australian on the deal so far

Just for info, if anyone was interested.

I actually contacted the supplier again today, and linked him to my websites blurb,

My issue is did they actually make me a machine, have they actually sent me a machine or am I just being scammed

I've had multiple dealings with Chinese through our business (non guitar related) and you certainly do get good and bad. We get reps fly out from china to Australia and visit us at our store as they travel around. These are good companies to deal with. We've had issues with other companies that just want to take advantage of the long distance and send what they want rather than what you order and we just cease business with them.

As far as CNC. The price should be a giveaway that its a too good to be true deal to begin with. I'm in the long drawn out process of having a CNC built. I originally started looking at china companies but after reading so many horror stories on the net, decided to get a local engineer to design and build one. It started off as a ten grand concept budget and now it's looking at a fifty grand investment. But that's purpose built for me, locally, by a guy I can call and have come around if I have issues with warranty etc. That also is allowing for tooling and extraction and air compressor for the tool changer etc.

This machine was going to be a prototype for manufacturing clarinets,

Im in it enough that it hurts, but not enough that I will end up starving from this bad decision.

Ill probably contact one of the other suppliers I have used in the past and stick with them.

Silly in a way that I went with some one new, when i had existing contacts who I have used and were good, but dearer.

Jeez Steve, sorry to hear of the problems mate

Have you tried contacting Alibaba?? They are quite a large concern and you would hope they would be concerned about their site being used to exploit people.

I really do hope you have a good outcome in the end because you really do put helping others first and therefore don't need the lesson that only this kind of crap can deliver.

Cheers

Kim

My experience with Chinese products has been good for me, :) I get so many of those "knock off, shiny, cant tell the difference, look alike" guitars to rework, from my customers. Fender, Gibson, Richenbacher, Hofner all copies costing around $350.00 landed in hard case.

Steve, your website seems not to be up at this moment.

Had it something to do with this product or dealer?

A friend is asking me and I have no idea about that kind of stuff and deals. :?

Cheers.

the 6090 looks like a tidy little machine, not the same company I was dealing with on the last transaction

P.S.
I can access your website again and I'll keep a copy of your warning page, just in case... 8)

Someone buy that 6090 and let us all know if it

a - actually arrives
b - is as good as it looks

Seriously though, I'd like to buy a small desktop machine and set it up dedicated to just fingerboard work and that 6090 looks like it could be just right. Then I can run that at the same time as my big machine (when it's finally built) multitasking the place.

Yes we all get caught up in the size of the machines.

I have a nice desktop unit as well, but its got a cutbed area of 400mm by 400mm, not really big enough to do a fretboard on, we use it solely for cutting shell and inlays, in retrospect it would have been nice getting it 200mm longer.

You only twig that the warranty is fake when you ring up the phone number on the warranty card and get a noodle shop in downtown Beijing.

Well, I should have wiped my hands of the transaction and walked away having only lost my initial payments, but the doggedness in me could not let it go....

Finally I take possession of the new machine.

After China lawyers, Australian lawyers, then having to pay all the shipping because they did not pay for it at there end

The purchase cost me from an agreed 2800 US Dollars to all up close to 7000 Australian.

I would not recommend this business to any one

The build quality is appalling, I was that pissed off after opening the box, I just walked away for the weekend, will take photos next week

Yep,

Got to take the good with the bad.

I've pulled the machine apart and drawn plans for replacement parts and emailed that off to the local steel laser cutters,

These things happen.
