Ok, so I've built quite a few electric instruments now using Kauri pine. It's stable, very light and I have a never ending supply of old, well seasoned stock. However, I keep having the same issue. Wherever I laminate it together (with original titebond), I find a have a mark or stain surrounding the joint. I've used all manner of other timbers and never had this problem with titebond. It seems to be unique to the Kauri. Here's a pic of a bass I built last year with a bunch of bits of kauri glued together. You can see stains on every joint.
It looks like a water mark. Is there some way of preventing this?
Titebond, kauri pine and glue stains. Thoughts?

Sorry I don't have a solution but it's not something I've experienced with NZ Kauri
