Ebony on CITIES 2018

Rumour has it ( https://theluthierist.podbean.com/e/the ... th-coloma/ circa 30:12) that all Ebony (Diospyros spp.) not just that from wood from Madagascar will be added to CITES.

Yes I have heard that rumour too, but have not seen any evidence to show that it is actually true. What we need to see is a proper CITES draft proposal and no one has come up with one covering all Ebony species yet so this is still rumour.
