Very nice howto!

One minor issue, I think one of the entries might be out of order there... you show sanding the routed edge of the pickguard after having mounted it to the body. I'd have thought this would be done before, and the picture there still seems to have it on its own, so I'm guessing that's how you do it?

I think the pickguard is first fitted to the body (complete with screws) to test final fit. It's then removed, the edges dressed up and then a final fit is done.

Martin has it right, I make the pickguard, route the edges, drill and fit to the body, then after I know it fits, I remove the pickguard and sweeten the edges with some wet and dry sandpaper, if for some reason I find something does not fit, then I get a file out and file that section away and then dress the edges by hand

makes sense... rough fit then disassemble to finish, fair enough!

Thankya sir. Amateur woodworker and amateur guitarist(/bass/banjo/whatever) and combining the two is one of those "yeah, I have to do that some time" things, maybe put together a simple parlour guitar that'll sound woeful or something to get a feel for it. Meanwhile, I can sit and ponder ;)
