It's mixed up......unless I know exactly when it was mixed up I prefer to mix up my own from flakes.
Ok I've actually read the link and it's a water based product. I've never heard of it. The fact they have excess stock rings alarm bells...it's not selling for a reason?

Re: water baseed lemon shellac
I have had a chat with Mike at the aforementioned business re the shellacs that he carries. He has a dewaxed white shellac which looks very interesting to me.
The water based lemon shellac is being made in Australia and is aimed at the school market because it is water based and non toxic. He is not that experienced with it re hardness and suitability for guitars as it is a new product. He is selling it for a reduced price in order to get it some exposure in the marketplace.
There is also a new Aussie formulation...https://www.thewoodworks.com.au/shop/se ... ish-detail
It may be an Aussie take on the Royal Lac, has anybody experienced this product. It causes the shellac to cross link and therefore harden. Brushes must be cleaned immediately as once hardened they cannot be repaired.
I noticed that he sells skunk hair brushes (hope they have been deodourised!) Has anyone used these? How does skunk hair compare to sable or squirrel?
Cheers Ross

Re: water baseed lemon shellac
This appears to be the original hardener for the Shines Hard Shellac (which was also licensed to Ubeaut). The "new" part is that the hardener mix can now be used (in proportion) as required because all the components are held in solution in an alcohol mix. Previously, it was just the base hardening components. Whilst the new product can be mixed with shellac in suitable quantities and used as required (but can't be air freighted because of the alcohol), the old product had to be used in total in a single mix to maintain the proper ratio of all the immiscible hardening components; but because there was no alcohol it could be air freighted.blackalex1952 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 9:40 amThere is also a new Aussie formulation...https://www.thewoodworks.com.au/shop/se ... ish-detail

I have been buying the "new" mix from Robert Rae (of Shines) for a number of years now.
