Perhaps this should be in the Jigs and Fixtures thread.... but it just didn't seem worthy
This Tenor Ukelele bridge clamp seemed plausible in theory but in practice it was quite poor. The main fault being that it rolls the bridge forward. I don't feel it's worth pursuing any further.
Would anyone have a design for some home-made ukelele bridge clamps..... or should I just brace out to the sides?
Cheers

Cant help you with a home made one.
I have a huge selection of clamps for bridges, as each size of instrument and scale lenght seems to require something different.
For that plan you might look at the StewMac soundhole clams on this page.

I would have 20 of the 5" ones as I tend to use them the most.

Allens link doesn't seem to work for me so I'm not sure he's showing the same ones, however I bought these as a temporary bridge clamp when I first started on acoustics until I could afford good ones, however these do the job fine so I've never replaced them:

Those are the ones I tried to link to. Must have stuffed something up.
Re: Some ideas just don't work
They're a bit flimsy when you first hold them, I wasn't sure if they were going to be any good, however they do the job quite well hence why I never felt the need to upgrade them. I don't wven use the centre clamp part on them anymore, it doesn't need it.
