It seems quiet in here

...what have we all been up to?

I should have finished this straight up G&G SS by the end of last year.

but I kept sanding through the nitro finish. I was trying hard to keep the finish thin on the top but my little brain seems to have done the same on the other parts.

Also I was seduced by some Indian Rosewood that I acquired last year and couldn't resist another classical:

Sorry if the pics are a bit jumbled. The classical is my best so far. I have been using Torres' fan bracing and steadily reducing the size on successive builds and this one is so responsive. Too good for me really as a player.

So some of you must be doing something exciting...

Dave

Hi Dave,

Some great building there mate. Congratulations.

I have been doing the same with the Torres strut style classical and I'm on #4 and I have been reducing my thickness's each build. I have two steel string half built, a tenor ukulele build and two thinline telecasters. So plenty going on in my workshop...a few pics for you

Some great stuff there Ozzie. I notice you are using a very traditional shape for the CL. It doesn't look it but the lower bout on mine is very close to the FE 114, and I use the bracing pattern from that one. As in:

Thanks Dave. The first Classical used a strut pattern similar to yours. The other three are Neil Ostberg "La Suprema" Torres Plan copies one with a short scale and two with 650mm scale which I prefer. The FE 19 is a smaller body shape to the FE 114. The plan was very helpful. It was a great learning curve as I had never built a Classical before. All good fun.
Cheers
Al
