Yes I got the email. A very big bummer. Some things are now going to be very difficult or impossible to get.

Yes, very disappointing. Does anyone know of an alternative provider for custom cut fret boards? Their service was very reasonably priced, with good variety.

Sad news. I notice Stewmac is going heavy on the emails and special promotions so obviously things are tough for all players.

I've just stocked up on spare blades for my Schneider gramil....one of the best tools I ever bought from LMI.

I remember a few years back LMI sent me a couple of radius dishes that were the incorrect radius. They said to keep them and they'd send the correct ones asap. Great service always from these guys.

Always good service, always great products. Shame his retiring.
The owner is located in Europe, a long way from the business.

As to getting some of their serviced products, this might be a good opportunity for us all (me included) to look to more local suppliers, eg. theres a few guys around sydney at least offering CNC'd fret slotting services.

Sad news... Maybe I'll order one thing from them before they're done. Something small-ish, maybe some fretting files ...

What would be one thing you bought from LMI which you'd recommend ordering?

This a great loss also to me. Their range of general and special items that LMI have grown was great. I will miss not being able to purchase some of their quality products that will now be harder to find elsewhere.

For me the priority is spares for LMI tools Ive bought over the years. The Schneider gramil is no longer available but blades for this beautiful little tool are. I have a swag of them on their way.

Thanks for the info Barry

That's strange as I couldn't see the gramils on the site last time I checked (about a week ago)....only the blades. Ive just ordered a second one for my workshop.

Here they are: https://www.lmii.com/binding-tools/2624 ... blade.html

I watched the video and I went and ordered one. Also a spare blade, because I won't get another chance.

Thanks for the hot tip. I have been wondering about the binding channel, and I really didn't like the idea of taking a router to the guitar body without at least scoring it first... And if I grind the angle and use this as a scraper, then that's even better. Cheers
