Hello everybody,

so i think its a nice idea to introduce yourself once new on a friendly forum.
i am Christopher, from Austria, 46yrs, and I must have misread the title of the forum as "Austrian/NZ luthiers.." just kidding, I found this forum to be very informative as well as full of friendly advice and chat. so here I am.
I was given a book by a good friend of mine "how to build your own acoustic guitar" by martin koch, also austrian, so that was it for me- i was hooked - and since then I have gotten right into the thick of it, just finished my first of hopefully many om guitars, also by the help of robbie o briens videos...
now i am kind of worried, because my wife is going crazy and thinks she can "order" anything from me, she just did order a cello!!
i am truly intimidated, since there are hardly any books/plans/resources... well---I will keep you updated. in my other life, i am a doctor (gp) and like being with my family, and friends the most. i love music, woodworking, sports, good food. so my time in the workshop is usually sleeping time for normal people :-)

thanks for having me here, and have a nice day. well-here it is day at least!
chris

Welcome to the forum Chris and thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself.

Nice work on that OM....my first build was also an OM.

Re plans and books on cello making...I'm sure there's something out there. Failing that we have at least one double bass maker who pops in now and then. He may be able to point you in the right direction.
Martin
