Radius the Fretboard using the Router Table

I have been using a sanding radius block to shape my fretboards and this takes a long time and effort to do. I have seen various router jig setups to do this task, however, I recently saw a youtube showing a router table with a 'Precision Radiusing Router Bit' to radius the fretboard. There are a number of radius bit sizes available.

I have a very good 'Carbatec' router table and I arranged to purchase a 16 inch radius bit from 'Amazon'. I found that you need to be careful setup the router table with the radius bit and attaching the fretboard to the backing block. Once setup it only takes a few minutes to radius the fretboard. The result is accurate and then only requires a light hand sanding using a radius block for a fine finish. See details see photos. below.

Nice.

Just a note grizzly also makes a sanding attachment for belt sanders and there is another company from memory that has a jig for passing the fretboard through a thicknesser at different positions to shape the fretboard

These router bits are another good idea to add to the tool belts
