Another machine modification...

Hi,
Here is another router project I completed this year.

The original router had a depth adjustment that could not be operated if the fence was used close to the router bit, so I could not do incremental depths of cut without moving the fence.

A stupid arrangement, using the large adjustment tool shown from the top, that I put up with for years… until now.
I think the photos will tell the story. Now it’s a dream to get a fine depth setting, just wined the handle, and then lock it in place.

Ozito? You've gone top shelf mate...opening up the purse strings?!!

My Ozito router is doing excellent service as a door stop. :D

Hi Martin, sorry to hear about your door stop, I use a wooden wedge, cheaper than your Ozito. My one has not got to the doorstop stage yet, I’ve only used it for 10 years now.

I have 13 routers, many set up for special use. Only three of them are Makita, and one is my first that I acquired in the 1970s, a Dremel series 1 mod 258. It’s vintage and close to becoming a doorstop. : :)
Cheers Taff
