Special Order Journeyman delivered

Post by woodrat » Mon Oct 21, 2013 10:26 am

I have just come back from Micheal Connors this weekend where I delivered this Journeyman to Adrian Cooper. This is the second guitar that Adrian I have built for Adrian. I built him a Mahogany and Spruce OM about 4 years ago and now I have just delivered this one. His Mahogany one was about number 18 and now this one is about number 45 I think.
Anyway he wanted a Journeyman with its satin lacquer so it would become his take everywhere guitar instead of his Mahogany one but he wanted a falcate top and a cutaway so I made this one with some Blackwood that I had and my last Lutz top and a mahogany neck that I had unceremoniously ripped from some piece of furniture somewhere...

Mike did a quick take at the end of the day before Adrian went home ....I am glad he did get a record of how it sounds and Adrian's nice playing.

That is a really nice looking and lovely sounding guitar John. Even better, it's going to someone who can and will appreciate it and make it sing.
Well done sir.

cheers

Well done John, its pretty neat all round. Now we don't want hear any more of this nonsense about "unceremoniously being ripped from wherever etc, etc.,, let's face it anything be it animal, vegetable or mineral that ends up in a Guitar has definitely gone to a better place and that includes antique furniture!

Nice one John, :cl :cl :cl :cl :cl

Now he just needs to let all his mates play it, so they get envious and want a John Buckham Guitar as well.

Sounds great, and his face says it all, he's bloody happy .

Cheers,
Paul .

Who would have thought that the acoustics in Micheal's shed were that good John. Sounds great.

Sounds and looks fantastic. Must feel pretty good hearing someone play like that on an instrument you have created.
