I don't think I ever posted this guitar that a mate came down to help build for himself. It is built to be not too flashy and to play.I get to see and hear this one regularly and it has developed into a great sounding guitar. Those Dreads sure have a big sound. The "D" is for Dean and more and more his son Doug who likes the sound compared to his Fender.
This one is sprayed with Mirotone 60% gloss and finished "off the gun " no buffing which was Deans preference and it looks good.

The top is thinner than spruce and the bracing is pretty fine too, but the sound is good.I imagine it is like a Mahogany top but haven't built one yet to compare.Shellac inside the body to seal it up from the effects of moisture.
The finish is straight Mirotone 60% gloss. I didn't pore fill anything and certainly won't stain any timber. That QLD Maple is backsawn and just has those colours running through it with the big ropey figure.

Re: Dreadnaught QLD Maple and New Guinea Rosewood
Finally finished....bout time hey.
It has turned out to be a real nice guitar, and will never be mistaken for a vanilla factory built guitar. That NGR is just outstanding.
