Also, a pic of my completed but not sprayed archtop. It has a one piece bridge as BB suggests as better than adjustable. It also has a bolt on neck which turned out easier than I thought it would be.

I have strung it up and it sounds great. Nice fat sound. But I have been working on the recurve on the back. Its cool that you can have it strung up and still work on the sound by adjusting recurve. I like playing it so much it might be a while before it gets sprayed. Not until I get back from Poland next year.

Very tasty L-00 Dominic.

I like what you've done with the truss rod cover.

Is that Tiger Myrtle binding the neck?

Bob, yep it is tiger myrtle FB bindings. Tim sent me a bunch of extras with an order early last year. The truss rod cover is magnetic. I cut the slot before I put the headstock plate on. Then I have made up a pocket hole jig for a 6.5mm drill bit to access the allen key head on the rod. Means I am only removing a minimum amount of wood under the weakest part of the neck. And the hole can look good without the cover if you get it neat. I leave the cover off on my electics as it looks kind of cool.

Lillian, it sounds good, similar to the Zebra wood one I made recently. But that one opened up and got more punchy after about 3 months. I expect this one to do the same. Its hard comparing it with the archtop which is so fat and beautiful with such an amazing dynamic range and punch. I think I'll make a stella style 12 string with a tail piece to check out the sounds in that design direction. Also interested in making flat tops with carved backs and archtops with flat backs.

Nice work, I love the ebony, in fact a nice guitar all round. Neat idea with the rod adjustment.

Thanks guys, the beautiful wood did most of the work. Taff, the truss cover thing is my signature now. I like the look and it is easy to make. I'd like to work out how to carve my name in them. That would be cool.

Re the rod cover: It will not be a signature feature for me but I have used a similar one on my most recent electric, not as classy as yours tho.

Yep outright wood porn!! And put together very nicely too. Well done Dom, your work is always very, very, good, but it just seems more polished and refined with each new display.

Well Done Bloke!

Thanks guys. Kim, I have worked really hard on getting better finishes and the last few have gone up a level which I am very happy about. Thanks for the encouragement.
Jim, got that set from Allied a few years ago. It was their medium figure stuff.

Had a strum of this one the other week.
Loved it, just loved it.
I also fell into the figure on the back & nearly didn't come back.
Wow :cl
