Hi All,

Here is another recently finished custom guitar. This guitar features a compound radius fretboard (9.5" nut 12.5" end). The inlays are white and black MoP and the finish is Charcoal. It has an LR Baggs Piezo Bridge and Coil splitting on a push/pull tone knob. The mini switch selects Piezo/blended/Humbuckers(split and non-split.

I may post a video of this guitar in the near future.

thanks, Jason

Looks flawless Jason. I would give up my PRS for that one. Hang on - I don't have a PRS. Anyway, you have made me stop thinking about having a PRS. I want that one. OK - just dreaming at the moment, but I might have to talk to you about that one day. Beautiful instrument.

Yes very clean and crisp! Amazing finish!

Is the droptop fiddleback blackwood?

How long did it take you to learn to get a finish like that? I'm thinking of building an electric in the near future and the spray finish seems to be difficult.

I've only built one acoustic and used oil as a finish which was just wipe on and buff.

Yes she's a cracker Jason, just dripping with appeal.

Well Done!

Great work Jason. Can't wait to see a vid. I'm really keen to see how the piezo translates on the solidbody. Seems a few manufactures are following Taylor down this path and would love to try my own version one day. Has anyone else had experience with putting a piezo pickup on a solidbody?

Thanks very much guys...

SuperDave, It is AAAA flamed Maple. The key to getting a finish like this is the cutting back after spraying. Some people use buffing wheels with different grades of cutting compound but I use different grades of wet and dry sandpaper. I finish with 2000 grit and then use a swirl remover to bring it to a high gloss. I then apply polish to finish. I am not saying this is the best way to do it, just the way I do it. cheers, Jason

Poor picture quality but the sound is ok (did have some trouble with distortion on the mic though)
