Uke No 2

Post by 68matts » Sun Feb 12, 2012 9:51 pm

Just finished this one through the week, it was a birthday present for my brother.
Top is sitka spruce
Back, sides and neck are tassie oak
Bindings, rosette and headplate are cooba
Fretboard and bridge are gidgee
Backstipe is Boonaree sapwood sandwiched by gidgee.

The build went a lot smoother than the first one and it already sounds a lot better too but still a long way to go :D

Thanks guys,
Yeah he's pretty happy with it, he only started playing just before christmas so he's happy to have something nice to learn on.
As for No3, I just got a shipment of wood from Tim S so it's mighty tempting to hook straight in but I've got some reno's to do around the house first ( so the boss say's anyway) and I Really need to sort my shed out ( just picked a drum sander and bandsaw and have nowhere to set them up yet :x ) and a dry room will definitely be put in before anything gets started.
Cheers
Matt
