3 String Upright Box Bass

Post by Gerry Coon » Fri Dec 14, 2012 1:50 pm

In the tradition of folk instruments made from wooden boxes, I came up with this bit of fun. Fairly pleased with the overall result, but I had to make another bridge to raise the action a touch. Plays and sounds like an acoustic bass. Have a look!

Welcome to the forum Gerry,

I like your instruments. The biggest challenge for anyone who has built serious instruments is to make a cbg look
" homemade". I was thinking that when I built mine. That thought lasted about an hour. After seeing the Land Fillharmonic
clips I'm after a cello.
