There are a lot of things on this build I would usually have said no to, but this build was an exception to my rules.
It was for a friend I've known a couple decades, who lets just say has different tastes to the mainstream.
I tried talking him out of the blue, he insisted the blue was the theme of the guitar and everything else was to be built around that theme. I tried talking him out of the hooks but he really, really wanted them. There were extra cut aways I did talk him out of, but other than that the guitar is pretty much all his concept.

Re: 47 pieces of ugly - finished pics
Got some nice timber combinations going on there Steve, I'm loving the Wenge (I have a piece for a neck sitting in my stash, may just have to use it now )
and the lamination work is cool. as you say, not sure of the blue but at the end of the day it's the customer who's paying for it so you have to keep them satisfied.
Those Humbuckers look like they have a pile of grunt, fairly chunky pole pieces!

Wow! I like it a lot! A statement and a half.
Kinda feels like you'd have to wear a super-hero costume to play it properly.
Particularly like your multi-scarf necks, Steve.

All the hardware minus the p/ups was supplied by the customer. The side dots also. I'm pretty sure it all came from eBay.
The pickups I had made in the UK and they as suggested have lots of grunt!
Cheers
