OM Cutaway

Post by ozwood » Sat Dec 13, 2014 4:41 pm

Hi all,

OM Cutaway.

Back & Sides Black Hearted Sassafras
Top Is Lutz
Neck is Tim's Pepper wood or brown Beech
Head plate is spalted Sassafras
Fretboard and Bridge are Puriri .

Bracing is Sparse Lattice.

Sounds pretty sweet.

Cheers,

Thanks,
GregL.

Hi Greg,

Thanks, No it's ABS I hate ebony as a Binding, it's hard to bend, get in the top wood when you sand and is just generally unpleasant to use, so ABS gives the same look , but without the headaches.

Cheers,
Paul .

Hi Paul,

Well, the ABS looks great! So is the veneer on the back of the headplate ABS too? It looks good whatever it is!

Thanks,
GregL.

Hi Greg,

No that's the real thing!.

I just have an aversion to Ebony binding., Otherwise I always use timber.

Cheers,
Paul .

Thanks Gents,

Yes Nick that's Tusq or In the black color it's called Graphtec.

Miguel, I also love the way puriri complements BHS , it's a bloody nice timber all round.

Cheers,

Paul.

There's a lot to like about this one Paul, very clean and tidy on the inside as well.
