A parlour for my grandson

Post by 56nortondomy » Sat Dec 20, 2014 11:05 am

I finished this one this morning. It'll be a xmas present for my grandson ( he's 8 maybe a bit young yet, time will tell ).
B/S Padauk
Top Sitka
Neck NGRW
F/b and bridge EIRW
Curly maple bindings
Headstock Jarrah burl and back Birdseye maple
Rosette red elm burl
Miritone lacquer finish
I'm really happy with the way it's turned out, there's a few little faults but overall i'm pleased with it.

Thanks guys. He's a great kid, very smart, so if he takes it up i think he'll do well. He's had a bit of a rocky start to life, but seems to be handling it ok, i'm glad i'm in a position to be able to do something for him.

Wish I'd had one of those when I was 8.....

(I was on discarded gut string tennis rackets in those days)
