OM Acoustic Guitar

Post by ozziebluesman » Mon Dec 28, 2015 4:40 pm

Hi to you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Bluey, my OM Acoustic guitar build is finally ready to rock. Its been four years since the box was closed on Bluey but he has been waiting patiently for some love and care from his owner.
Love this guitar!
All done!

A few details for you:

Sitka top
Quilted Mahogany binding, rosette, back and sides.
Laminated Queensland Maple neck
East Indian Rosewood headplate, backplate fingerboard and bridge.
Schaller acoustic machine heads with pearl buttons.
H logo shell inlayed by hand

This is a very light weight guitar tone is warm as you expect from Mahogany. It is the nicest sounding guitar I have built thus far in my opinion. I used jumbo frets on this one and it feels good. Give it a little break in time and I promise a sound sample.
Cheers
Alan

That looks like a beauty Alan. The mahogany-on-mahogany is really classy. When you have wood that looks that good you don't need to add another to contrast. Isn't it great how a guitar can sit there for 4 years and just wait for you to get back to finish it, and then turn out a stunner.

Nice work Allan.....4 years is not too bad, it's nearly 4 years now and my lute hasn't got strings on it yet.

Thanks Kim, Mark and Martin for your comments.
I'm glad now I waited till my health was better before continuing with the build.
Happy New Year to you all.
Cheers
