Sassafras Baritone on its way to a new home

Post by Graham Long » Wed Jul 20, 2016 8:56 pm

A nice Baritone Ukulele, commissioned by Paul Gordon
Paul wanted something to reflect his Scottish Heritage, so I added a bit of the Gordon Clan insignia.
Named - BYDAND which is the Gordon Clan slogan.
Back and Sides - Black Heart Sassafras
Neck - Queensland Maple
Soundboard - Engelmann Spruce
Headstock, Bridge, Bindings and Fretboard - Desert Oak
Headstock Inlay - Gordon Clan Tartan with Gold & Black Pearl Gordon Clan motif, "The Crown and Stag's Head".
Rosette - Gordon Clan Belt, done in Ebony with Gold Pearl Buckle and Belt Tip.
Rear Headstock Overlay, Heel Cap and Endgraft - Ringed Gidgee.
Nut and Saddle - NT Buffalo Horn
Strings - Aquila Lava Series.

Thanks Trent,
I looked all over for a piece of the right Tartan, had to be Gordon Clan Dress Tartan. After a week or more trolling the Internet, I showed my wife, and voila! she had a piece in amongst her patch work material.
And now it's in the headstock.
