Rosewood and Sitka Baritone Uke

Post by Allen » Sat Jul 30, 2016 6:42 am

Baritone ukes seem to be gaining in popularity with my clients lately and this one going to a client that has 7 of my other ukes.

It uses a set of Clear Worth Baritone strings, but are rearranged so that the tuning is GceA. Familiar chord shapes for those that play smaller ukes with the standard tuning, but gives a very interesting sound with the low A.

Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce soundboard.
Indian Rosewood compound radius fret board. Head plate veneers and bridge.
Australian Lace Sheoak bindings, end graft and bridge detail.
MISI under saddle pickup.
Gotoh UPT machine heads
French Polish finish.

I love this ukulele as well. is your heel cap just decorative or does it help tie the neck to the body like a violin. I like the look.

I use a Spanish heel neck, so it's integral to the instrument. The heel cap therefor is just decorative.
