This is one of my more recent builds, it’s my Nemesis model.

Freehand airbrushed by a local artist, inspired by Frazetta “Conan the Destroyer”.

Alder body
Maple neck
Gidgee board

26.125” - 27.5” scale
16” radius
Hipshot bridge
Gotoh locking tuners
EMG Pickups

I’ll let the pics do the talking!

Multiscale stringed instruments aren't a new thing. I believe multiscale instruments were around in the 1600's. In 1900 someone took out a patent for a multiscale fretboard. Ralph Novak is probably the most well known modern exponent of the multiscale fretboard...he took out a patent on the "multiple scale fretboard". The patent has now expired but Novak still holds a trademark over the term "fanned fret".

Very interesting!

I was aware it was an old classical guitar concept, however that’s as far as my knowledge expanded, it’s interesting to know it goes back as far as the fifteenth century! That’s amazing!

Thanks.

Thanks guys! I think it turned out great.

For years I’ve left multiscales alone as I figured it’s just a novelty for the kids and the fad will blow over, but at the same time I figured I’d build one for a bit of variety and really just for the hell of it.

Me personally though, call me old school but I’m a straight fret guy.
