Englemann and Sassafras 000

Post by Jim » Sun Dec 09, 2018 8:16 pm

Just finished my 3rd guitar- another triple ooo-12.

Top: Englemann Spruce
Back and Sides: Sassafras
Bridge and fretboard: Casurina
Neck: Laminate Sassafras, Silky Oak, Vic Ash
Binding: Quandong and Blackwood
Bracing: Salvaged German spruce from a very old piano

V Happy with the way it plays and sounds.....

Very nice Jim,
What is scale is it? Were you able to use standard tuning?

Joseph
The stone is hard and the drop is small but a hole is made by the constant fall.

Great to the application of that Aussie timber on this guitar. Brilliant result and looks amazing. Be great to hear a sound sample.

Thanks for the comments gentleman.
Joseph it's standard Martin long scale, and at the moment it is in standard tuning.
The fine detail work is slowly coming on Trent, but I still feel like there's a long way to go. I still see things that irk me but when I look back at earlier work there's definitely been some progress!
Wayne I'll try and get some sound samples up with my dodgy set up. It's only been strung up for a couple of days so I'll give it some time to settle in.
Cheers
Jim
