Brief Introduction

Post by bassvader » Tue Feb 11, 2020 6:59 pm

Hi there!
My name is Sam and I am from Auckland, NZ. I am 45 and married with two children. I am starting this year a bit of journey into building electric Bass guitars. I tried a kitset out last year and found the part I enjoyed most was the woodworking component but since pretty much all of that is done already I have been reading, designing, planning, accumulating tools and building a workbench (that I have just finished at long last). So much to learn! I am looking forward to gleaning from this great forum. Thanks!!
I have just started preparing stock for the body, neck and fretboard of my first Bass. (All handsaws and planes)
I have not done woodwork since I was at school 30 years ago....I am just trying to really enjoy this process and produce something reasonable to begin with.
Look forward to interacting along the way.
All the best

Welcome Sam from a fellow jafa, North Shore based.

Never built a bass but happy to help if I can.
