Col Joye RIP.

Post by Taffy Evans » Thu Aug 07, 2025 8:26 am

Just a short story. At the start of this week, I rearranged my office/showroom by putting guitars that are not normally displayed on display. All were a mix of abandoned guitars, refurbished and ready for sale.

There was one guitar that I do not display for sale, because I play it often due to its great Delta blues tone, it sounds great played bottleneck slide. Anyway, for some unknown reason, I decided to place it on a stand at the front of all the other guitars, unknowingly, the very same day that Col Joye passed away.

Which manufacturer made a Col Joye model? That is a real blast from the past.

Hi Mark, I have looked into it in the past, but could only find info on the guitars that he played. They were built by Col Joyes' brother, Keith, in the period 1959 to the early 1960s

The one I have is possibly Japanese.
