Another Sheep Story

Post by kiwigeo » Wed Nov 12, 2008 8:07 am

A serious side to this story but Im still asking "why the sheep costume"??

Man catches fire while helping mate

A Christchurch man was seriously burned when the sheep costume he was wearing caught fire during his OE in Ireland.
Former Christchurch High School Old Boys rugby club player, Paddy Pearson, is in intensive care in Ireland after his fancy-dress costume caught fire in a pub, Newstalk ZB reported.
Pearson, dressed as a fleecy sheep, was badly burnt while trying to help another person whose clothes were on fire. He jumped on his friend's back, but his costume caught fire as he tried to smother the blaze.
He has been transferred to Galway for skin grafts.
His friend has left hospital with burns to his back.
In Christchurch, the committee of Pearson's former rugby club is raising money for his treatment with a fundraising dinner on November 28. It will feature rowing champion Mahe Drysdale as guest speaker.

Ok, since Kim hasn't jumped on board, I'll take this one....

Isn't it 'cause you bloody kiwi's just love the fleecy little buggers, no matter how loud you may protest otherwise. Him and his mate were probably just home sick.

No quenching the flames of true love :)

Poor bugger, I really do hope he comes good, nothing as painful, long healing and traumatic as serious burns. It just amazes me that this happened, some idiot must have made the sheep costume from an acrylic. All those fine long and flammable fibres teased out and so close together would have been a flash fire just waiting to happen, he should sue the arse off the dickheads responsible.

Cheers all

I agree Kim, The silly bugger should have grabbed himself a real sheep, shagged the dags off it, skinned the bugger and then donned the freshly vacated sheep skin.
