It's Movember

Post by kiwigeo » Fri Nov 04, 2011 9:35 pm

Okay skinflints it's time to empty your pockets of any lose change or forego a few beers this month. The company I work for is having it's annual Christmas party later this month and all attendees have been encouraged to participate in Movember. Ive started cultivating some upper lip fuzz which hopefully by the end of the month will look something like a moustache.

For those of you who'd like to contribute to a worthy cause (prostate cancer and other men's health issues) please go to the following website and make a donation. Below is a before photo and at the end of the month Ill post up a photo of the end result of my efforts for all to see.

Thanks in Advance

Scary!
The Chemistry department's male population have all been 'coerced' into participating this year (I was accosted by four Students who were all taller than me & encouraged to have a go) so it should be a laugh. Mine started with a bang but I fear it's reached critical mass already & resembles more of a smudge than a Mo  Never was much of a hairy beast, still they have prizes for the best & worst in the department so I at least maybe in with a chance of taking one of them out!

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

Bathroom was the only place where light was good enough for a decent photo using the iPhone.

Haven't participated this year, but I reckon this shot from a previous Movember would scare even more kids than yours!

Just back from Perth where the consulting group I work for had its annual xmas party. Movember was the theme of the event and a few of us were sporting growths. I managed to grab the prize for best moustache.

On a more serious note, while in Perth I learned that the Ops Geologist working with my current client has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer...

Progress pic attached. I look like sh*t because I'm still recovering from a long drinking session at the Belgian Beer Cafe in Perth. Ended up getting thrown out of the joint after one of their bouncers took a dislike to my bosses son.

Thanks to Morgan for another kind donation. In the end I managed to raise $840...not a bad effort but Ill do better next year.

Thanks to all of you who donated and also those who maybe couldnt donate but spent time thinking about their prostate health or that of friends and family.

Cheers Martin
