Finnaly got to meet Bob

Post by kiwigeo » Sun Oct 05, 2014 10:49 am

Well last Friday I finally got to meet out illustrious leader Bob Connor. Bob popped in for a workshop visit followed by a few beers down at my local pub. I'd always imagined Bob as a bit of a gentleman and that's pretty much what he turned out to be. Thanks for taking the time to zip up to the hills Bob...was a pleasure finally meeting you.

Is it true Martin that the hills may never be the same?

Same here, nice dinner, Bob's shout. That was on the other end of the train ride to Martin's. Thanks for making the effort while you where here bob. Any train stories? Would you recommend the trip? Do they stop for cultural tourism on the way?

Nice to meet you blokes as well.

There was a bit of culture on the way to Adelaide Jim. It consisted of a few stubbies of Peroni and some nice Cab Sauv to wash down the tucker.

The Ghan was great. Very leisurely trip. Here's some pics.

Unfortunately the only Guinness they had at The Stirling Pub was the sh*t in the cans....not the same as out of a tap or a bottle.

Anyway we downed a few beers and then the girls turned up. Yes...there were girls. When they first appeared I think Bob was starting to wonder what he'd got himself into.....a few beers Martin said, he said nothing about h**ers  They were on fact a couple of good friends of mine who Id met earlier in the day and invited down to the pub to join us.

Thanks for the pics Bob, as it is just up the road I might have to get on it one day.

Martin offers ladies to Bob, Bob offers pictures of rocks to Martin, end result is the same.
The Ghan, is that the one that runs East to West or up the guts North to South?

Did he ring the doorbell or was there a man bobbing his head and wiggling his eyebrow at your window?

Doorbell is turned off.....I love sitting in my lounge and watching the JW's frantically ringing the bell and getting no response when they can see me sitting in the lounge blisssfully sipping on a Guinness.
