Lost his battle with cancer 2 days after his 69th birthday. RIP Starman.

One of the sad parts about getting older, Ive noticed, is seeing the people we look up to going first a lot of the time .

Think I wore the grooves out of my copy of "Heroes", especially the title track, the volume knob bounced off the stops when I cranked that track up. Wasn't so struck on his latest stuff but still an innovator to the last.

My favourite track...."This is not America".....Bowie with Pat Methany.

Unfortunately I missed the concert in Christchurch in 1978.

I just watched a clip of the track "Lazarus" from Bowie's last album "Black Star". Haunting and brilliant.....the man turned even his pending death into a work of art.
