Another one gone. Fantastic fiddler and mandolin player. Saw him live once in a solo act and was gob smacked.

I think Dave Swarbrick and Fairport Convention spawned a few other folk rock bands - Steeleye Span was a favourite or mine. Better than average musicians and knockout vocals.

Just had a nice trawl through the you tube clips. Amazing clip of Swarbrick and Fairport Convention at "Glastonbury Fayre" ..a bit smaller sale than now by the looks, but a great fiddle clip. Bass players not too shabby either. Was also reminded of Sandy Denny, a great voice, also worth a browse.
