Fleta Asymmetric cross dipole.

Post by soundshooter » Thu Feb 05, 2015 5:28 am

I've finished my second Fleta and I'm in the process of tweaking the box. I'm committed to getting the closely spaced Asymmetric cross dipole to work. I've been sanding the tops off of bracing to push things around. I think Im close, but it appears that the tap on the treble side is significantly higher than that on the bass side. Should the tone of the treble side and the bass side be tuned to the same note? Would reducing the hight of the treble side closing bar reduce the frequency of the treble side ?

If you're hearing two different notes you're exciting two different modes of vibration.

Best to match up your tap responses with some Chladni testing, then you know what you're working with.
