Re: Listing of Preferred Vendors
Hey Bob, are MEI still part of the preferred group? Only you have them listed here but they don't have a listing/heading in the sub forum area. Just wasn't sure if they were still an active member of the group or not they as there wasn't much activity in their sub forum.

Re: Listing of Preferred Vendors
I've hidden some of those preferred vendors where nothing at all has happened for three or four years and kept them in this listing.
The Preferred Vendors area has got a bit stale and I'm contacting some of the guys in there at the moment to see if they want to have a forum or just offer any deals they have in the general forum.
I don't think anyone from MEI has been on the forum since we first created the sub-forum. Same with Alaska Specialty Woods and Cedar Creek Cases.
They are still on the preferred vendors list but it seems unnecessary to have an entire sub-forum if it just gathers cobwebs.
Regards

Re: Listing of Preferred Vendors
For the month of May, Alaska Specialty Woods Inc, has slashed their already attractive prices for their 100% Savage Sourced Old Growth Sitka soundboard products. This month it's Mandolin family time. No coupons needed for this sale.
Also if any of the Admins of ANZLF want to grab any of what's on sale, or other, we would still like to donate product for you to sell or auction for fundraising of this Great Forum.

I'm looking for a reliable source of fresh bow hair. Does anyone have a source they would recommend?
Thanks!

Re: Listing of Preferred Vendors
Dear Bob,
Do you or have you ever had Artesan (artesan.com.au) or Fine Tools Australia (finetools.com.au) on your preferred supplier list? I believe they are the same company. Both appear to have an ABN/ACN through ASIC. Based on my recent experience with Artesan, I think there is something dodgy going on. I recently ordered a Luban V2 low angle block plane. Item was listed as in stock and the company happily took my money.
No confirmation of my order ever arrived and numerous attempts to email them have gone unanswered (both companies that is). The claim to be a Melbourned based company and the name Jason Daniel keeps coming up as the author of past news articles on their site. Frustratingly, there does not appear to be any way of contacting them. Note also, they have a presence on ebay.
To cut a long story short, I think I've been taken to the tune of $140 and I would like to warn forum members if you think that would be appropriate.

Hi Oliver,
Bob is no longer running this forum. In answer to your question no we have never had the company in question on our list of preferred vendors.....and if what you say is true they never will be on our list.
Cheers Martin
