Build Journal

Got a new way of doing something? Or maybe an old method that needs some clarification.

Build Journal

Post by Ron Wisdom » Sat Nov 17, 2007 2:46 pm

Some of you may have seen this on the OLF, but others might find it interesting or even helpful. Note, that it was not made to be a tutorial, it was just a progression journal of my last build for a friend so he could check out the progress.

Very cool, Ron. It looks like we bought our drum sanders at the same store...

Yes Ron,

This is a great idea, thanks for posting. Must have been a fair bit of work but worth the effort. How are those first few guitars that you built for your sons going? They must be opening up just fine by now I bet.

Cheers

Thanks, guys.

Kim, so far everything I've built is still together. One of the twin cherry guitars is in Memphis with my oldest son and I haven't played it since it left, but the other son lives in the same town as me. The guitar I gave him is my favorite so far. It really has gained a more sophisticated sound. Not as loud as my first build (cherry, also) but a much richer sound. I will be exploring cherry more in the future.

Thanks, Martin. I followed pretty much the same procedure on my current build except it is an OM, my first, and I am now using a blanket instead of the bulbs.
