Glueing Bindings

Got a new way of doing something? Or maybe an old method that needs some clarification.

Glueing Bindings

Post by Dave M » Fri Dec 18, 2015 10:41 pm

This may be obvious to everybody but I have only just thought of it.
The cradle used when cutting the binding channels can be used to secure the box to the benchtop making it easier to apply tape. I found it much easier than having the box sliding around.

A good tip Dave. I sit the instrument in it's external mold. I stick some cork blocks underneath elevate the guitar high enough to get the binding cutter jig around.

Nice looking guitar BTW

Yes, why didn't we think of that before?
Seems like a good idea. I have a binding job to do this week so I am definitely going to put that idea into practice. Thanks Dave.
