I know this is a contentious topic and there are many options covered in previous posts on this forum.
I am just wondering if Feast Watson sanding sealer is suitable to use as a grain filler for acoustic instruments.
If not why not considering that epoxy is commonly used? Dulux (Feast Watson and Cabots) technical advice is
that they do not recommend sanding sealer for use on acoustical instruments, but did not say why.
I was intending to use the sanding sealer as a pore filler on Indian rosewood prior to French polishing.

I think you might find that using the sanding eater as a pore fill on a dark timber you could see it in the pores or have a milkiness to the finish because it isn't clear but milky when mixed..

Sanding sealer should only ever be applied as one coat after you have done the pore filling with some other method where it's only the pores you've filled. And the sanding sealer is just taking care of very minor imperfections and giving a uniform surface to then apply your topcoats.
Otherwise it will start to affect the color and clarity of the timber.

Thanks Rod and Allen for your advice. Thought I might have been on to something that is relatively cheap
compared to Aqua Coat or epoxies and sands off easily.

Timbermate does a good job if you can get a good colour match, need to do some test runs, goes on easy, doesn't shrink, sands very easily.

I use timbermate too, if I can't get the exact match I just go with something darker than the timber I'm using, ebony gets used a bit and so does the jarrah. And yes it's way easier to sand than epoxy and aqua coat.
