RIP Jim Williams
I am sure many of you will know or at least know of Jim Williams whose book, A Guitar Makers Manual, has helped many a beginning guitar maker. Sad to report that Jim died last week near Murwillumbah on the north coast. Funeral early next week.

Re: RIP Jim Williams
That's a sad loss. Jim's book was constantly sitting open on my bench at the guitar building course I did back in 2002 which got me started building guitars. My first build was an OM steel string but it was built Spanish method..pretty much as detailed in Jim's book.Graham McDonald wrote: ↑Sun Apr 22, 2018 11:33 amI am sure many of you will know or at least know of Jim Williams whose book, A Guitar Makers Manual, has helped many a beginning guitar maker. Re: RIP Jim Williams
Oh, sad indeed.
Jim's book was one of the first two I owned over 20 years ago and I still have it. Some of my very first jigs built were based on Jim's suggestions and it certainly played it's part in getting me hooked in this craft.
Thanks for the post Graham.
R.I.P. Jim.

Seems like I've read many articles in the GAL by Jim. He contributed greatly to our craft and is a sad loss indeed.
